Recertification is required every 5 years, and is based on a re-certification plan approved by the teacher's local certification committee. In cases where no such formal committee exists, the local adult education director may approve teacher recertification plans. Staff development activities sponsored by the Center for Adult Learning and Literacy at the University of Maine (CALL) and other providers are frequently used by adult education professionals for CEU's. Jump to CALL's web site.
