Bridges To Employment
These five interactive modules are intended to assist those preparing for a job change to get the skills necessary to launch a successful employment transition. Each segment of the series is designed to address particular component of job search and acquisition process, from identifying transferrable skills commonly requested in job ads to enhancing abilities requested by local employers. You may take each module individually or all five as a series. If you register for and complete the entire series, your total registration fee will be discounted by $20

If the district schools do not open due to weather issues, Adult Education classes are automatically cancelled! If district schools are let out early due to weather issues, Adult Education classes are automatically cancelled! If the Adult Education classes only are closed due to weather in the evening, the announcement will be made on TV: Channel 2, Channel 5, and Channel 8. The announcement will also be made on the radio stations; 92.3, 98.6, 95.7, 106.5, 97.1 and 104.7. The Superintendent is the final decision-maker on cancellations!! LAE Business & Marketing courses are designed for both small business owners and employees looking to build skills for current or prospective work. These courses also serve as excellent and affordable professional development opportunities for area businesses and employees.
Courses will include The Essentials of Effective Leadership and Introduction to Online arketing & Search Engine Optimization, as well as a one-day workshop, Introduction to E-Mail Marketing using Constant Contact. Two online business courses, Entrepreneurship and Supervision, will also be offered through LAE this winter.
A Web Design Intensive will also be offered, in which participants will construct a website from scratch and learn to maintain it themselves. This course is also ideal for anyone with a small business or hobby they would like to share online.
Office skills courses will also be available, including a full-semester (15 week) course in Office Practice, for those new to office work, as well as two six-week courses in MS Excel I and MS Excel II. For those in need of more concise professional development options, Saturday intensive workshops will be held in MS Excel and in MS Word this March.
