WOULD YOU LIKE TO TEACH AN ADULT ED COURSE? [PVAEC - Piscataquis Valley Adult Education Cooperative]

Do you want to make some extra money doing something you already love to do? If you have a special talent or hobby, we would like to hear from you! We are currently recruiting Enrichment Instructors for our Spring 2017 semester. That’s right; you can get paid for sharing your skill with others, no experience necessary. The only qualification is a willingness to share your talents. Our Spring courses generally start up the week after February Break (February 27, 2017), and end by June 2017. You can choose to hold your course in 4 weekly sessions, 8 weekly sessions, one night only, all day workshops, or anything in between. Our schedule is very flexible. Our classes are held in Dexter, Dover-Foxcroft, Guilford, and Milo. We are able to offer daytime classes in our Dover-Foxcroft location, Monday through Thursday. Our Dover-Foxcroft location also offers a full kitchen for food related classes, and a gym for exercise/recreational classes (subject to gym schedule/availability). All other locations are available for late afternoon and evening classes. Dexter classes are held at our Dexter Learning Center (in the Millworks building across from Bud's Shop n' Save), Guilford classes are held at Piscataquis Community Secondary School, and Milo classes are held at Penquis Valley High School.

If you are interested in working with us, fill out our online form, or download our application and mail it in, email it, or drop it off to us at PVAEC Adult Education, 50 Mayo Street, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426. All applications will be reviewed and approved/disapproved by our director. Teaching applications must be submitted by Friday, December 9, 2016.

We are open to ALL suggestions, but here is a quick list of some of our most requested topics: photography, cooking, baking, dancing (line dancing has done extremely well in the past), exercise (Zumba, yoga, etc.), fly tying, and all types of arts and crafts.

For questions or suggestions, please call 564-6525, or email hroberts@pvaec.org
We look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome Ken [Houlton/Hodgdon Adult & Community Education]

Ken Ervin joins us as the new assistant director. Ken brings with him a wealth of experience with college transitions, college readiness, and working with students to help them attain their goals in post secondary education. His past experiences at Franklin Pierce University will be a valuable asset to our learners. His work with the TRIO Talent Search program also brings together experiences with making connections to students of all ages. Ken began with us on September 6 and he has already made an impact on the students and in the community. Ken is also ready to start our first basketball team (he's the tall guy in the picture)! Welcoming him to the adult education team is director Joe Fagnant.
