Adult Education Announces New Hires

The RSU13 Adult Education program is pleased to announce three new hires. Caitlin Clark will be serving as Academic Coordinator, offering college and career advising to all adult education students and tutoring students in the Learning Center who are pursuing their high school credentials. Caitlin’s background is in college access and success, and she is excited to work one on one with students to determine their next steps and achieve their goals. Brenda Hio-Hamdan is a certified English teacher, who joins the Adult Ed team from Brockton, Massachusetts. Brenda will be offering Language Arts and Writing assistance to students on Wednesday evenings from 4-7pm.  Elizabeth DiLalla, an experienced tutor and teacher of English Language Learners, has been hired to run Adult Education’s ELL class twice a week. Elizabeth has supported New Mainers in the midcoast for several years.  Caitlin, Brenda and Elizabeth join Peg Junge, certified Math instructor and Cathy VanDyke, career pathways and business computing specialist, to offer a full range of instruction to students. Adult Education services are available to anyone in the community who wishes to complete a high school credential or who has a goal of enrolling in a post-secondary college or certificate program in the next 18 months. The English Language Learners class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6pm. RSU13 Adult Education is housed at 28 Lincoln Street in Rockland, also referred to as McLain School, and has classrooms and offices on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
